7 Easy Steps to Launch a Profitable Business on Shopify FAST – In the midst of the pandemic, one day as my BFF and I sat on a neighborhood bench staring into the window of UNIQLO (a trendy clothing apparel store) admiring the fashionably dressed mannequins, we started dreaming up ideas about launching a business together.
Within a few short months as the pandemic began to release its grip on the world, my BFF retired from a 25-year career with the public school system and I made huge sacrifices to make room for a lifelong dream (and to complement what I already love doing: empowering women).
Within weeks, I sketched out a business model, brand, and marketing strategy and learned everything there was to know about Shopify (hell, with the knowledge I acquired, I should be running Shopify by now 😊). I even personally designed and built our website.
Before long, DoYou4Less was born—a woman-empowerment fashion brand that inspires women to express themselves, be unique, and DoYou.
Now I’m thrilled to share everything I learned and break it down in 7 Easy Steps to Launch a Profitable Business on Shopify FAST. Let’s dive in:
1. Choose a profitable niche:
Do some research on what products are currently trending and in demand. Use SEO keywords such as “best-selling products” or “trending products” to find ideas. If you already have a product or idea, research and explore how to make it optimal. For example, is it solving a need or want? Once you have a list of potential niches, evaluate them based on profitability and competition.
2. Research your competition:
Use SEO keywords such as “top Shopify stores” or “successful Shopify stores” to find competitors in your niche. Analyze their products, pricing, marketing strategies, and customer reviews to identify gaps in the market that you can fill.
3. Create a brand:
Choose a brand name that is memorable and reflects your niche. Use SEO keywords such as “brand name generator” or “branding tips” to help you come up with a brand identity. Remember a brand is not just a logo. It’s how you communicate your value to the world.
4. Source your products:
Use SEO keywords such as “product sourcing” or “wholesale suppliers” to find reliable vendors for your products. Consider dropshipping or print-on-demand as a low-risk option to start with. At DoYou4Less, we use Printify, the top Shopify print-on-demand partner.
5. Set up your Shopify store:
Choose one of the hundreds of Shopify website themes that align with your brand and niche and customize it to your liking. Use SEO keywords in your product descriptions, titles, and meta tags to improve your search engine rankings and attract more customers to your store.
6. Market your store:
Use SEO keywords such as “Shopify marketing strategies” or “social media marketing” to find effective ways to promote your store. Consider using social media, email marketing, influencer marketing, sales funnels, and paid advertising to reach your target audience.
7. Analyze and optimize:
Use Shopify’s analytics tools to track your store’s performance and identify areas for improvement. Use SEO keywords such as “Shopify analytics” or “conversion rate optimization” to find resources that can help you optimize your store for better results.
There you have it. Easy peasy!
Now, I’m going to say something to you that I recently said to my 37-year-old daughter when she called whiny about something that need not be whined about:
- Don’t be so damn overdramatic! Just go out, show the world who you are, and DoYou.
