I heard a violent heaving sound coming from the living room. I sat up quickly and stiffly. I tapped on my husband, who was fast asleep next to me, in a panic. I looked at the clock, it was 3 AM. We hadn’t gotten a good night’s sleep in weeks. My son was dealing with his own set of lessons being learned explicitly through the body. We were 8 weeks into the exploration of learning how to best support his body. Pediatrics are a special subset of the population. Their liver isn’t developed. If they have genetic mutations (SNP’s) it further complicates things. Add an immune system that’s in process in terms of development and things can get tricky given their delicate nature.
