TREES TALK- ARE WE LISTENING? – During the Mark Anthony, JD Psychic Explorer 2024 Tour I was a featured speaker at the New Living Expo in San Rafael, California. Since my manager Rocky and I arrived ahead of the conference, we had a free day. My passion is studying ancient mysteries and supernatural phenomenon which involves visiting mystical and spiritual locations around the world including the Muir Redwood Forest near San Rafael.
The last of the great Pacific coastal redwood forests, Muir Woods National Monument is home to some of the world’s tallest trees. They grow anywhere from 130 ft to 379 ft (40 to 115 m) tall. Their average lifespan ranges from 800-1,500 years, although some live over 22 centuries.
Rocky and I entered the redwood forest. The sun’s rays flowed through the treetops which illuminated a thousand shades of green contrasted against the deep reddish tree bark. We felt transported into an ethereal realm as all life’s stresses seemed to fade away.
Some claim Muir reminds them of the forest of Endor home to the Ewoks in “Star Wars, Return of the Jedi.” Rocky and I resonated more with Lothlorien, the forest of the magical Elf Queen Galadriel from “The Lord of the Rings.” At any moment, we expected Cate Blanchett to pop out from behind a tree.
Deeper into the redwoods we entered “Cathedral Grove” where the massive trees form a canopy creating a mystical sanctuary. A sign requested people to be respectful and keep their voices to a whisper. Immediately I understood why. I’ve been to many temples and sacred sites around the world, but none exuded the tranquility of Cathedral Grove.
President Franklin Roosevelt’s Interior Secretary referred to this part of the forest as a “Temple of Peace.” After Roosevelt’s untimely passing, President Truman hosted 500 dignitaries and heads of state at Cathedral Grove in May 1945 prior to them approving the United Nations Charter.
Rocky and I stood near each other, but far enough away to allow our personal energy to intertwine with the energy of these noble trees. We observed “families” of trees where mature trees, smaller trees and saplings were gathered in semi-circular groups.
Near one tree family I segued into the daydream/meditative state that occurs when I connect with spirits. And then—I felt a profound sense of fear—coming from the trees themselves!
In my mind I projected, “Don’t be afraid—we are friends.”
“WE HAVE NO FRIENDS,” the trees replied.
Stunned, I paused. Sure, I’m a medium who talks to spirits—as if that isn’t weird enough—but now I was telepathically communicating with trees?
Next, they transmitted that their fear stemmed from how humans have treated them. They directed my attention to traces of burn marks on several of the mature redwoods. This meant a past forest fire. These were the survivors.
Mentally I responded, “Not all humans are the same, we’re here to help.”
“Mark,” Rocky whispered, “This sounds strange—but I feel like the trees are somehow speaking to me.” It happened to Rocky too! As a medium and paranormal investigator, experience has taught me that when more than one person simultaneously experiences a spiritual message, this is objective verification of that communication.
As we emerged from Cathedral Grove an elderly Park Ranger approached us. “The trees talked to you, didn’t they? I can always tell from the look on people’s faces. I’ve been here a long time. When you’re around redwoods, they’ll talk to you—if you’re listening. They talk to each other and other trees too. We believe there’s a biological explanation due to the mycelium fungus.”
The mycelium fungus forms a symbiotic relationship with the roots of redwood trees. The tiny threads of the mycelium create a network between the roots of the redwoods and other plants in the forest. This network allows the fungi to direct the redwood and other plants’ roots to water and nutrients in the soil. This appears to be a form of communication between different species of trees with the fungus acting as intermediary.
But, can humans communicate with trees? The notion may seem fantastical, but communication is based on frequency and electromagnetic energy.
Albert Einstein said, “Matter is energy, energy is light, we are all light beings.” Light is electromagnetic energy, and the only form of electromagnetic energy visible to the human eye.
Scientists have proven our cells produce flashes of light. This is different from the bioluminescence of fireflies and lanternfish. These ultraweak photonic emissions, known as “biophotons,” are invisible to the naked eye. In 2012 MIT issued a paper indicating biophotons are used for intra and intercellular communication. These short quasiperiodic bursts of light are similar to those used by computer technology to transmit binary data. In other words, our cells use flashes of light to communicate with each other. The cells of all living beings emit biophotons, including cells of plants and fungi.
Biological pioneer and ecological inventor Kenny Ausubel states, “Plants appear to be sentient beings…They don’t have eyes but they have the same photoreceptor proteins all over their bodies that humans have at the back of the retina. Plants don’t have brains, but they translate information into electrical chemical signals in their cells, identical to the ones used by our own neurons.”
Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson has observed “When a tree is cut down in the forest, other trees reach out to the victim with their root tips, and send lifesaving sustenance, water, sugar, and other nutrients via the mycelium. This continuous IV drip from neighboring trees can keep this stump alive for decades, and even centuries. And they don’t only do it for their own kind. They do it for the trees of other species. Why? Is it because they know that their lives depend on the health of the whole forest, and even on beings very different from themselves?”
The electromagnetic soul (EMS) theory introduced in my book “The Afterlife Frequency” explains how our soul is pure consciousness which is eternal electromagnetic energy. Our soul resides within our brain, it is not created by the brain and when our bodies die, the EMS remains a coherent quantum field which survives physical death.
During spirit communication a spirit emits electromagnetic waves which interface with the electromagnetic energy within the recipient’s brain which is then converted into recognizable concepts based on the person’s memories, feelings, and cultural associations. I know this to be true since I’ve engaged in spirit communication thousands of times—but that has been with human and animal spirits. Is it possible with trees?
Communication utilizes energy which is neither created nor destroyed only transferred from one form to another. Human braincells emit biophotons. This electromagnetic energy enables communication with other humans, and dare I say, with spirits. Since the biophotons of redwoods enable communication with other redwoods, as well as with other plants and mycelium fungi, then why not with humans?
Humans can learn a lot by listening to trees. Humanity often ruthlessly exploits the natural environment whereas the plant kingdom engages in inter-species communication for the benefit of the entire environment.
Perhaps when Einstein said, “We are all light beings,” he truly meant ALL beings.
