December 2024 Energy Update

Welcome to this space of the magazine. The one you connect with each month. The moon, the sun. Your spiritual being.

This is an invitation for you to set intentions and reflect throughout December at key moments that punctuate the solar and lunar cycles—a form of soul nourishment.

Have courage, dear heart… This is a month for the Sun and the Moon. Grab a cup of tea (or coffee), your journal, and an open mind. Let us get started.

SUN in Sagittarius and Capricorn, November 22nd – December 21st:

Sagittarius: the explorer. The seeker. Always curious. Driven by big questions. Independent. Freedom.

A time to ask those questions of “Why am I here.” It is about going on new quests. Always having great ideas. A period of higher learning and expanding the mind. Traveling and loving freedom. Go abroad!

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, which is all about this optimism to begin again and expand. The shadow of Sagittarius is there is a risk of never being satisfied. Take a journal and a pen.

December 22 – January 19:

Capricorn: the intuitive, the grounded. Thriving in a hospitable environment. The blend of our spiritual self and the earthly experience.

Capricorn also has the ability to make sense of the complex moving parts. What do you need to make sense of right now? What needs to be defined in your life? It is time to explore this as we have a New Year with new goals and intentions.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which is putting an emphasis on what is earned over time, such as achievements, recognitions, or authority.

The shadows of Capricorn are the tendency to be relentlessly driven, lost in the material world, and overly serious.

MOON with New Moon in Sagittarius + Full Moon in Taurus

Create a ritual to connect with the moon. Let me share more about the moon phases and how to honor these.

New Moon: Set Intention. New Moon at 9° in Sagittarius (Sunday 1.12 at 12.21 AM CST, 6.21 AM GMT and 5.21 PM AEDT).

In the darkness. Connect with the seeds to be planted.

Sagittarius Sun + Sagittarius Moon = Fire + Fire element connection.

Sagittarius is the Yang. The doing. It connects to the element of Fire.

The energy of Sagittarius is inviting you to expand your worldview. Go through that path less traveled. Call in deep into the life of the unknown.

Embrace this wisdom and the need to explore and expand. Exploring what is beyond what we know. Take a journal and a pen.

JOURNAL PROMPTS:

• What are my New Moon intentions?
• What is my next adventure?

First Quarter Moon: Aquarius. FQ Moon at 17° in Pisces (Sunday 8.12 at 9.26 AM CST, 3.26 PM GMT and Monday 9.12 at 2.26 AM AEDT).

This is the time to take action. The time to grow. In the first Quarter Moon, you take inspired action towards the plans you have created.

Sagittarius Intention + Pisces Moon = Fire + Water element connection.

Pisces is a yin sign. The being. It connects with Water. The connection to our feelings and our intuitive wisdom. Creative, dreamy, and flowy.

The principle of unity. Unity is coming from those two fish in the sign. They come together and help us to go deep into the water to see what is emerging.

It is a beautiful time for healing. Go into deep meditation and embrace love and compassion. Take a journal and a pen.

• How can I bring more flow to this?

Full Moon: Illuminate. Full Moon at 23° in Gemini (Sunday 15.12 at 3.02 AM CST, 9.02 AM GMT and 8.02 PM AEDT).

Expression of the need to embody passion. Under the Full Moon, all is illuminated. The seeds and intentions planted in the December New Moon are revealed.

Sagittarius Intention + Gemini Moon = Fire + Air element connection.

Gemini is an air sign and is a yang energy. It is all about learning and new experiences. Let’s be curious about our relationships. It is fuelled by our curiosity to learn more. The knowledge gained during the Gemini moon provides valuable lessons needed in our lives. Take a journal and a pen.

JOURNAL PROMPTS:

• What is illuminated in this Full Moon with my New Moon intention?

Last Quarter Moon: Re-evaluate. Last Quarter at 1° in Libra (Sunday 22.12 at 4.18 PM CST and 10.18 PM GMT and Monday 23.12 at 9.18 PM AEDT).

The time to surrender.

Sagittarius Intention + Libra Moon = Fire + Earth element connection.

Libra is the yang. The doing. It connects to the element of air. It is about bringing together the balance. To co-create harmony with those around you.

The energy of Libra is inviting you to move towards connection with fairness and respect, to collaborate across different cultures and social categories, to bring justice, and to bring truth and reconciliation to all. Take a journal and a pen.

• How can I bring more fairness and respect to myself?
• What’s next?
