It’s Time To Learn Your Clients Love Language – You might be thinking, why do I need to know my client’s love language? We aren’t dating… But aren’t you?
Aren’t you inviting your potential clients into work relationships? By the way, speaking your client’s love language doesn’t involve you saying I love you, but we are asking them to join a partnership with us and, in some cases, a very intimate partnership.
So how do you learn your client’s love language? You listen to their needs. Isn’t that what this relationship is all about, the flow of energy between you and your clients? You provide a valuable service, and they, in return, pay you for that said service?
Here are three ways to learn to speak your client’s love language, post your bond with them, and help them to understand what you offer as a partner in your relationship.
Identifying Their Needs First:
If you don’t know what your client’s needs are… well, that would require a whole lot more than this one article. What is it they will receive at the end of working with you? Confidence? Knowledge? Weight loss? Identify elusive health issues. Don’t make the love language about you! This is all about them! Not what you offer but what they walk away with.
Finding The Right Words to Convey Outcomes:
What words do you use when you are creating emails, social media posts, and video content? Is it based on what they are getting for their money? Something like this… “You will receive three one-on-one VIP consultations with me,” “Includes your monthly shopping list,” or “Complete video series to help you through the program?”
That is your love language and what you offer for the program, and unfortunately, all your clients just heard was blah… blah… Blah…
Why not use the list you just created in step one to identify your client’s needs? Let’s just say for the purpose of this article that it’s weight loss. So obviously, your client’s direct result should be some sort of weight loss. So, when listing your program’s deliverables, be direct and honest. State something more like this… “our clients have been known to release up to 15lbs through our 10-week program. Boom! Clients love language.
Keep the conversation flowing:
What happens when you bring that new client into the fold? This is where the real work should begin. Anyone who has been married long past the honeymoon phase will tell you it is constant work, and these new clients are no different. Find a way to keep the flow of love language going between you and your client. The biggest trick in this relationship is if you are doing this right, you are dating multiple clients at a time. How do you make them all special and not part of the cattle call?
Easy, we know our clients love language, and now we want to make sure we are showing up and nurturing our relationship. One of the ways I find that works best is private weekly messages.
Oh, I know exactly what you’re thinking, but I’m BUSY TOO!
Instead of sending a text, push down on that little microphone and let something inspiring, encouraging, and motivating flow out of you and into the grasp of your client. Key tip do not do this as a cut-and-paste. Unless you are trying to attract that kind of relationship with your clients. Be sure to address them by name and refer to one personal thing you know about them during the very short message.
I, for one, have been very guilty about pushing out very selfish content. Heck, my YouTube is a perfect example. I would post a video, and literally, the first 2-minutes of every video was me telling them about me. I am, I have, I’ve done. Nobody cared, and if I didn’t believe it, just looking at the analytics behind the post was proof enough. Before the end of the 2-minute introduction, they had tuned out!
Now, I just cut right to the chase; what is in this for YOU?
How do you walk away better, empowered with what you’ve learned, and improved in some way?
I am so grateful for the world we live in today. We have immediate access to so much information that we can tap into immediately. Having said that, with that beautiful gift comes a whole new era of learning how to become real and create real relationships all through a screen monitor. I am shocked by the hundreds of DM’s, emails, and posts that are sent my way every day filled with offers, and not one of them took even a second to think about the needs of their potential clients.
By the way, I am not saying your content is crap and selfish; quite the opposite. I am saying no matter how amazing your product is, unless you are putting it in the correct wrapping paper that speaks directly to the need of your clients, it is going to go unnoticed and unopened.
For anyone who would love to learn more about how they can create powerful bonds between yourself and your client quickly!
