- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2 cups cold water
- 1-2 tablespoons agave nectar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Directions:
If using fresh cherries, remove the pits. If using frozen cherries, ensure they are thawed. Roll the limes on the countertop to release more juice. Cut in half and juice them. In a blender, combine the pitted cherries, lime juice, cold water, maple syrup or agave nectar, and cayenne pepper. Blend the mixture until smooth. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove pulp. Taste the limeade and adjust the sweetness and spiciness according to your preference. Add more sweetener or cayenne pepper if needed. Place the limeade in the refrigerator to chill for about 30 minutes or longer. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the spicy cherry adrenal limeade over the ice.
